How to Brighten up a Dark Video

How to Brighten up a Dark Video
Do you have some dark videos which you would like to brighten up so you can see them better? Let's lighten them up!

Steps
Get a software named "VirtualDub" from http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

Launch VD (Virtual Dub) and open your video file.

Now we need to recompress the video and audio. If you skip this step the output video size will be colossal (a few GB if is a long video). The video I'm about to use is very bright already so it will not stay with very good looking...but whatever, its just an example. Choose a codec to compress the video (if you have divx on that list I recommend)

Do the same with audio.

Now lets do the thing. Go the video/filters (Is at the same place where you went to compress the video...you did that right? ) Now add the brightness/contrast filter.

Raise a bit the brightness or contrast as you wish, try some combinations until the output is the way you want.

Now go to File/Save as avi (or press F7).

Virtual Dub will start to process your video, wait until it finish. This may take long or not depending on your video length.
